The most immediate concern of this site is with the 2008 American Presidential
Election; some news organizations have already begun to cover the matter.
For the time being, Politicoma.com will act as a central hub for a plethora of domain names
for possible presidential candidates. The current complete list is as follows:
To be frank, the chance of the actual election, or even major party candidacy of some of the aforementionned possible candidates is slim. The likelihood of an election campaign, however, is entirely high. Consider, for example, Al Sharpton. Al Sharpton has run for the United States senate in 1978, 1992, and 1994, for NYC Mayor in 1997, and most recently, for the democratic candidacy of 2004. The likelihood of his running in the presidential race of 2008 is high, and is encouraged by many civil rights activists. alsharpton2008.com and sharpton08.com are very likely to be sought as official campaign websites (see, for example, Gen. Wes Clark's use of clark04.com, or John Edwards' use of johnedwards2004.com).
In Short: the amount that these domain names will be sought after will only skyrocket in loom of current
political events, and the current asking price, while negotiable,
remains relatively low. None of the domain names are copywritten or trademarked by any of the possible candidates or
political parties at their time of purchase (and remain so to present day). Risk is low, prices are low, potential
profit is exponentially high. You do the math.
